can anyone explain this verb for me ??

hola amigos !

i get a spanish word of the day email and today's was jactarse but it's slightly confusing, i remember reading that se is used for indirect pronouns so is this just jactar with se stuck on the end ??

what really added to the confusion was on verb.obrist.org they have it listed as me jacto, te jactas etc instead of just jacto, jactas etc

if anyone could explain how this works and clear up some confusion for me i'd really appreciate it.

thanks.

"Jactarse" is a reflexive verb. You don't "jactas" of something. You "te jactas" of something.

"Jactar(se)" is an action that carries a connotation of oneself. Plenty of examples of reflexive verbs right here: http://www.tomisimo.org/diccionario/...self?q=oneself

Also a pretty good explanation in Spanish with examples and their English and French equivalents:
