Estuvimos vs Fuimos

Ha pasado mucho tiempo desde que publiqué.

Encontré esta frase en un correo electrónico de SpanishDict.
"Estuvimos de fiesta en fiesta." We went from party to party.

Habria escrito:
"Fuimos de fiesta en fiesta."

Como siempre, Gracias por todo.

It's a stylistic choice. In English, we can say, we went from party to party. We can less commonly say, we were at party after party.
It works the same way in Spanish.

Both say the same in the sense there were a lot of parties happening and we move from one to the others like a hummingbird.

However...

Fuimos de fiesta en fiesta is more like a mechanical description of our activity, and this phrase fits better if we were crashing parties.

Estuvimos de fiesta en fiesta, with estar playing an ambiguous role as both a full verb and an auxiliary verb which gerundio was lost, rather implies we're party people who enjoyed ourselves. This phrase fits better if we had invitations galore.
