Cantar

This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for February 5, 2009

cantar - verb - to sing. Look up cantar in the dictionary

Es bonito cantar en las noches con toda la familia.
Singing at night with the whole family is fun.

this is the verb. the noun, singer is el/la cantante right? and song is la canción?
I know it is because they are several of my additional vocab of this chapter. cantar is one too.

Song is a noun. Singer is a noun (can be used as a subject or an object). Sing is the verb.

Just to nitpick, cantante is "singer" as in artist, and cantor/cantora is "singer" as in vocalist. :)
