Cost of living.

Cost of living.

I have been wanting to live in a spanish speaking country for a while now. I was wondering if anyone could offer me some advice on where to live for a year and also how much it would cost to live there in American Dollars. I was thinking Buenos Aires, but that might be more than I can afford. Spain might be too expensive also, but if anyone thinks differently please let me know. I would like to go to spain for a year to study flamenco guitar. That would be really cool.

It looks like here's some information on the cost of living in Spain.

that's about 1500 USD per month. hmmmm. Are there any other places that would be cheaper? South America or Central America maybe?

South & Central America would probably be cheaper, it's not the same standard of living though. In Méxcio, depending on where you wanted to stay you could easily rent a house and live great for $500/month.

Hi Eric

I recommend you my country for studying Spanish. It´s a lot cheaper than Spain and really beatiful (Mexico is one of the most visited places in the world).
Hollywood´s movies depicts my country as dangerous and poor, but, believe me, that´s not true. There are several cities where you can live and study Spanish. I would recommend you Puebla, Queretaro, Guanajuato, San Luis Potosi.

Let me know if I can help you more.

There are plenty of places in Spain where to live with less than 1500 USD/month, but those guitar lessons aren't cheap :)
