Thunderstorm translation
What would be the correct translation for thunderstorm....
My try -> tormenta de trueno. |
Re: Thunderstorm translation
Close, but I don't know of a literal translation. I'd go with "Tormenta eléctrica".

Re: Thunderstorm translation
Thanks, atnbueno, I'll use tormenta electrica.

I consider that the correct Translation is : "TRONADA" Tambien Podemos decir tambien "Un trueno Tormentoso" Also,We can say "Un trueno Tormentoso" |
Re: Thunderstorm translation
You're right. "Tronada" is a perfect translation (It will be added to the DRAE next edition, 23rd). But I have to say I've never heard or used it.

Re: Thunderstorm translation
I also never heard it. For me "tronada" es una persona loca :-) .
For me "Tormenta eléctrica" o "tormenta con aparato eléctrico" are more common to hear Between kids "un tormentón" (a very big storm) |
Re: Thunderstorm translation
atnbueno, how can you tell if something is going to be added to the DRAE? Just curious. :)
