Pi

You math experts should know what pi is. If you don't, look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pi. Hope it helps.

Contest: whoever can memorize the most digits in pi wins!

Look here to practice but please don't cheat!

I can only memorize this much without looking:

Good luck, and remember, no cheating!

Rather than try to memorize any more than I memorized as a teenager (a long time ago), I'll just go on record saying that, after the decimal point, I can still recite the first 30 digits. :)

wow, that's pretty good!

Wow I'm jealous...I can't even remember the date sometimes :o

There was a girl from my middle school who printed out pi with 10 pages worth of decimals off the internet and she'd whip it out to study in class.
I wonder how far laepelba can get since math is her thing.

I can get to 3.14. That's all. :) I have to admit that I think that memorizing more than two or three decimal digits of pi is a waste of time. And I actually tell my students that same thing. I'd rather spend my time memorizing something that is useful in life. Like the conjugations of hablar, comer and vivir. Which I am off to do now. :) Enjoy your memorization of pi...............................

Este Sabado es la dia de pi (3/14/2009).

I remember the first five digits after the decimal point from high school math, and that's all I've ever needed. If I need more when programming something, I just define it as a constant (if it's not already)..

We celebrated Pi Day last year! We had a contest on who can memorize the most digits of pi (by writing it down), and I forgot who won, but the boy who won got A LOT!!
