leña (feminine noun (la)) — firewood, sticks, kindling. Look up leña in the dictionary

Ese señor fue a traer leña del monte para poder cocinar en su vivienda.
That man went to bring firewood from the woods to be able to cook in his house.

When playing football, dar leña means to play rough, by kicking roughly. :wicked:
