Donde manda patrón, no manda marinero

Donde manda patrón, no manda marinero

I have used this modism a lot the last three days.
We expected an important visit, and sometimes we did "strange" things , but we did not questioned us because it was an order from "above"
the modism is "Donde manda patrón, no manda marinero", and it's a ship modism.
literall: "Where the owner commands, the sailor does not command"
more or less "If the owner/captain gives an order, the sailor must no question it"

I have found 'what the boss says goes' but I want to know if there are funnier ones :D

Saludos :D

PD: there are other ways to say it
donde hay patrón no manda marinero
Donde manda capitán no gobierna marinero
Donde manda capitán, no manda marinero

The last time I checked, you weren't the boss.or Are you the boss? I don't think so.

The one in red is the correct saying. :)

@sosia: Perhaps my grandfather would have said about the boss: "sólo sus chicharrones truenan", meaning only the boss "can talk".

@Hernán: In México is "donde manda capitán, no gobierna marinero", so that is the correct saying. :p
