Fue or era?

When asking about how a trip was, would you say "¿Cómo era tu viaje?" or "¿Cómo fue tu viaje?"

I think it would be ¿Cómo fue tu viaje? But why would I use one over the other? :/ thanks in advance!

Read up on how to choose between the imperfect and the preterite tenses.

You're talking about an event with a start and an end in the past, so the preterite tense is used.
