It's necessary, yes. Sino hasta marks a specific time in a negative context. In a positive context, the sino is dropped.

One thing that might help you it to learn the phrase as one unit of meaning, instead of splitting it up into the individual words:

"sino hasta que" = "not until"

You text is almost correct in itself structure but, there are some mistakes very diminutives for example you can say a ala for refer about a place or some address where you wanna going or you are, then it's correct use but sound bad although the word exist between the people with tongue Spanish, I can recommend you that if you have the chance to use (Por la. Instead of a la it'll sounds much better than before.:)
