Aventajar
This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for April 14, 2009
aventajar (verb) — to surpass, excel, beat, outstrip. Look up aventajar in the dictionary Juanita aventaja con mucho a Lupita. Juanita is far better than Lupita. |
I had never heard of the word aventajar being used like that.
More like...... I could be wrong and maybe above examples could be in addition to but again, I've never heard it used like that before. Alas, live and learn!:thinking: |
Unless I'm mistaken, the Daily Word example and your examples are all correct. :)
|
The word of the day example is a bit vague, but correct.
It can mean Juanita is taller, nicer, better student, faster, or anything else, than Lupita. ... |
