Thanks for the thumbs up, Crotalito. fishing=pescar

Ambarina,
Yo habría ido pescando (pescar?) pero en cambio tenía (tuviera?) que trabajar. Clue: habría ido a.....
Clue (same for the second verbs below):what past tense should you use?
Tuve? dejó? Have we ran out of past tenses yet? My head hurts. Why not tenía?
I'm not a student, just learning on my own. It's okay if you fix my mistakes but if you would rather, clues are fun too.
Thanks mucho!

Sorry for the delay in replying. Didn't stop to read this properly yesterday. Saw that Chileno/Crotalito had corrected your work too but not the message you wrote me.
In the first sentence (Yo habría ido a pescar pero tenía/tuve que trabajar). Why I crossed out "tenía"? God only knows. :duh: as both are possible. Sorry for mucking you up.:o
In the second case, i.e. the husband would't/didn't let her sing, has to be "dejó".
I'm not partial to just correcting mistakes. I think people learn more from trying to correct their own mistakes at least that's been true in my experience when learning a language, unless of course they're just minor things like extra or missing articles, etc. and I'll carry on using clues. :)
It's commendable that you're learning off your own bat. I think that's the hardest. Keep it up.
And "Thanks mucho!" and "Of nothing!" to you.:D
