Hay que rebajar la tabla un poco de ese lado para que entre bien.

I have heard that rebejar used to mean to bargain with in order to get a lower price.

"cut down" and there is another term in English that I cannot remember...:impatient:

Me gusta ir de rebajas, todo está rebajado al 50%.
No me gusta que me rebajen el vino con agua.
También se puede rebajar algún objeto, acortándolo un poco (en este caso, una tabla)

Agree. To water down and to cut are two ways to say the same thing. To cut down means something else.

Correcto. I had forgotten about "water down" and I guess I was thinking in Spanish "reducir" when I wrote "cut down" :)

Water down es diluír, o sea, rebajar con agua.
