Valer
I have come across a situation in which a speaker used válgame
to mean pardon me or excuse me. Do you find this in normal speech? |
The only way I've heard válgame used in normal speech in Mexico, is as an expression of mild surprise, similar to well, I'll be.
|
The complete expression is: !válgame dios!

@Poli: your speaker must have meant something like "oh, my... I'm embarrassed/ashamed. I'm sorry" by only saying "válgame"... very common expression (and one of my favourite ones in daily speech, btw.) :D
