" se me escapa" I can´t undestand . ANy other suggestions in English?

In addition to "I can't understand," we say "it escapes me."

I can't understand how some people think.

A couple more options:

Se me escapa.
I can't quite put my finger on it.
It's on the tip of my tongue.
I can't think of it.
It's slipped my mind. (This "it's" here is a contraction for "it has", not "it is")
It doesn't come to mind right now.

It's never too late to reply to a thread, as long as the thread and reply are still relevant (which it definitely is in this case). Often the original poster is gone, but the thread is still useful for new people searching for an answer to the same question.

To me, the phrase "it's beyond me" is really similar, but has a slightly different meaning-- or at least emphasis.

It's beyond me why some people think that way.
No logro entender porqué algunos piensen de esa forma.
No me cabe en la cabeza porqué algunos piensen de esa forma.

It just has a little different emphasis than a plain "I don't understand". :)
