UNA cosa no quita la otra

ROBINDESBOIS July 24, 2009 10:46 AM

UNA cosa no quita la otra

IN English , please?

One thing doesn´t cancel the other ????

This means that you can do both things, the fact that you do one, doesn´t prevent you from doing the other thing too.

I thought it was you can´t have the cake and eat it.

UNA cosa no quita la otra.

Doing X doesn't prevent you from doing Y. (replace X and Y with the things you're talking about.)

Often said with ",too" at the end.

We use both phrases.

Another translation option:
(Doing) one thing doesn't rule out (doing) another.
