Look out the window

Look out the window

Look out the window :good:
look out of the window
look through the window

which one is correct or which ones ? I know the first one is correct, but I´ve heard the 3 versions.

The first one is correct for AmE. The second one is used in BrE.

The third one can mean the same as the first two, but it is mostly used metaphorically.
Look through the window of the past.
Look through the window of my soul.

Precicely, although I do sometimes look through real windows in both directions in(to) and out of)

Thank you . It´s awesome how much you know. Are you English Teachers or something?

Rusty July 25, 2009 09:05 AM

I'm not a teacher, but thanks for the compliment. :)

Ah, Rusty - but you ARE a teacher. Maybe not by vocation, but definitely by avocation! :)
