Ave que no vuela a la cazuela
Does anybody the equivalent in English?
This means that everything is useful to you, especially if you find it. |
Hmmm..
Perhaps 'Waste not, want not' ? :) Or a little more oldfashioned (at least I have never heard it used myself): Willful waste makes woeful want |
Can you tell us some more about what this phrase means from your perspective?
I found a few ideas on the net. Possible meanings for "ave que no vuela, a la cazuela". Literally-- "if the bird doesn't fly away, thow it in the pot and cook it".

you´re right, this implies especially GREED, you want all for you. ANd you don´t have to be in a position of power. It´s like the more you have, the more you want. |
What do you think ?
|
Yes, finders keepers/losers weepers seems like the English equivalent..
|
I think the best translation is:
Ave que no vuela, a la cazuela. If the opportunity to (steal/be corrupt/get some personal gain out of your position of trust) presents itself, go for it. Ugh. |
This reminds me of 'to take anything/everything that isn't tied down.'
Better watch that guy, he'll take anything that isn't tied down. |
hahahha, thanks
