pantufla (feminine noun (la)) — slipper. Look up pantufla in the dictionary

Cuando hace frío uso mis pantuflas para caminar en la casa.
When it's cold I wear my slippers to walk around the house.

Aquí se usa zapatilla (de casa). Pantuflas, aunque se entiende, se oye bastante poco. :D

Over here we call them zapatillas.

En francés dicen pantoufles. Probablemente en el siglo XIX se diría pantuflas.

I'm aware of the word zapatilla but a more common term here in
chancleta. Pantufla is new to me.

Chancleta or chancla is a flip-flop for me.

Sí. entiendo. Como flip flop, chancla es una palabra que utaliza onomatopeya.

Pienso que otros países / idiomas 'adoptaron' esta palabra del francés también.:)

German: der Pantoffel
Dutch: de pantoffel

A wimp or antihero = 'Pantoffelheld' (Héroe de pantoufla :D :D)

@Poli: "Chancla", as understood in Mexico, is rather an old shoe. "Chancleta" is a flip-flop, and despite the fact that it can be used for wandering at home, "pantuflas" is much better for "slippers". :)

Nunca había tenido las pantuflas / zapatillas, pero por supuesto nunca hizo frío aquí:)

A little bit offtopic perhaps sorry but, just out of curiosity:

Why is it 'que existe' and not 'que existen en el mundo' in this case?:)
Is it because you are referring to 'lo más cómodo' directly instead of 'mis pantuflas' or is there another reason?
