My spanish is not very good. I read it better than I speak it.
Mi español no es muy bien. Lo leo mejor que lo hablo.

Lamento lo que hice el otro día.
Lamento lo del otro día
Siento (mucho) lo que hice el otro día.
Siento (mucho) lo del otro día.
Perdón por lo que hice el otro día.
Perdón por lo del otro día.

Thank you for your suggestions. I'm not sure about the differences between them though. Which would be best if I want to tell a friend I'm sorry because I saw her somewhere but didn't have a chance to say hi?

Any choice would be fine... if it's a friend and not a big offense, you can say something like "disculpa por lo del otro día; no tuve oportunidad de acercarme a saludarte". :)

"Lo siento, el otro día te ví pero no pude pararme a saludarte"
"Sorry, I saw you the other day but i couln't stop to greet you"
