I would use demostrar or mostrar for proving something to someone.

Comprobar means more to corroborate. To prove means probar

I think comprobar, probar, demostrar, and mostrar can all be valid translations for to prove.

(this would be used if you want to show you love the other person)
Let me prove (demonstrate) my love for you.
Déjame demostrar/mostrar mi amor por tí.

(this would be used if you have made mistakes and your love for the other person is in doubt)
