Mi frase de práctica:
Cuando juego con mi sobrino, a él le gusta esconderse detrás del sofa. El primer vez, yo no pude encontrarle. :)

Además se puede prescindir de "a él" y "yo".

Escondido es una ciudad cerca del San Diego! Qué raro!, no está escondida.:P

Todo el mundo tienen secretos escondidos , pero debieran compartirlos porque de hecho no es bueno llevar tantos secretos escondidos.

Siempre la gata estaba escondido al pasar el perro, la gata sigilosa andaba como si se fuera la vida si el perro la veo.

Collective nouns like "la gente", "todo el mundo", "la banda", "la policía", etc., in Spanish, carry verbs conjugated in singular.

Sí y no. Se oye bastante "la gente hacen" por mucho que no sea correcto.

There is a mistake, "detrás" should be used, instead of "atrás"

@pjt: nunca lo he oído así, sino como "las gentes hacen"... y tampoco me mata de gusto. :D

...De cualquier manera, éste es un foro de aprendizaje del español, y aunque es bueno que los estudiantes sepan que hay nativos que hablan de manera incorrecta, ellos deben saber cuál es la forma correcta. :)

¡Ah me gusta esta expresión! :D :thumbsup: ¿Se puede traducir como por ejemplo :' I can't say I'm dying from enthousiasm' o ' I'm not exactly thrilled about it either' ? :confused:

Sí verdad...:D De hecho ya es tan difícil y a veces confuso leer, entender y aprender las reglas correctas, que creo que sería demasiado confuso leer sobre los errores/ cosas incorrectas cometidos por los 'nativos'. :rolleyes: ;)

Todos dichos para decir que (no sé el español) ocurre una cosa sorprendente. Pero estoy seguro de que hay muchos mejores ejemplos que éso, es horrible aún no lo puedo explicar bien en inglés, no pienso de unos ejemplos jajaj:lol:

@Empanada: you're right about "no me mata de gusto" and also about what I wanted to say to Elaina. Thanks. ;)

Although I can understand what you are saying, sometimes how we say it, even in writing gives others the wrong connotation.

We are all here to learn but also to understand that we all have had brushes with educated and non-educated people and it is good to know how everyone talks and what they mean.

If we go around speaking correctly or only saying the right thing, then we are not communicating with everyone. Well, unless that is our objective.

For example, in my job as an interpreter......I have to know the correct and incorrect way of saying many things so that I can understand our patients. Otherwise I would be doing a disservice to them. You may see that I ask a lot of questions about words I hear because to me it is important to understand what people from all walks of life are saying.... I have to "speak" outside the box.
