 me, te, se, le, lo, etc

hello

I find very confusing which verbs and when come with "me, te, se, etc" and which verbs and when with "le, lo, etc"

for example the verb realizarse, why it is accompanied with "se"? there is no meaning that the action returns to the subject or something...

also, in the phrase marque una opcion que se le ofrecen en cada caso, is the "le" really necessary??

is there an article, a book, or any rules, that clear those issues?

also, is there a list of the -se verbs?

thanks

Hola Lingos,

Los verbos los que terminan por "-se" son verbos reflexivos,

Sentarse - to sit (oneself)
Me siento - I sit myself
Te sientas - you sit yourself
Os sentáis - you all sit yourselves
Se sientan - they sit themselves
Se sienta - you (formal) sit yourself
Nos sentamos - we sit ourselves

----
pero ofrecer no es un verbo reflexivo.
"le" se pone "se" cuando está antes un otro lo/la/ect.
"le" becomes "se" when it´s before lo/la/ect.

Le(him) lo(it) ofrecen(they offer)
:bad: = they offer it to him

Se(him)
lo(it) ofrecen(they offer):good:
= they offer it to him

No estoy seguro de que vaya a ayudarte:D

Whenever both pronouns begin with the letter "l" change the first pronoun to "se."
le lo = se lo
le la = se la
le los = se los
le las = se las
les lo = se lo
les la = se la
les los = se los
les las = se las

Maybe the following chart can help you with pronouns:

http://culturitalia.uibk.ac.at/hispa...C3%A1tonas.htm

Remember that when you're going to join two pronouns, if the first one is "le" you must change this "le" into "se":

Le lo dije :bad:
Se lo dije :good: (se= a él/ella/-os-as; lo = esto, alguna cosa)

Some verbs are joined to a pronoun (-se), they are called "verbos pronominales".

For instance, "arrepentirse" (you never can say "arrepentir" alone, this verb must always go with a pronoun (átono): me arrepiento, se arrepintió, te arrepentirás, etc.

There are verbs which can be "pronominales" or not. For instance, "caer": se cayó, me caeré, etc.; or: caen gotas, cayeron muchos rayos.

Other verbs are "reflexivos" (me peino -a mí mismo-) or "recíprocos" (los niños se lavan -each other-).
:)

Nunca pensé que mi idioma fuera tan complicado. Creo que hay que pensar el idioma y verlo como ideas.
