"viene siendo"

"viene siendo"

Buenas tardes:

"...y bueno, el caso es que aprovechando la buena acústica de la iglesia, pues ahora organizan ahí lo que viene siendo una fiesta, aunque más que fiesta en noche de antro con patrocinador."

¿Qué significa "viene siendo"? En contexto me parece que puede ser "has become".

Gracias

"Viene siendo" is not the best Spanish for "es":

Ahora organizan ahí lo que es una fiesta.

In this case, "lo que es" is an emphasis, like "organizan una verdadera fiesta". :)

It meaning when you are trying to say it are being something.

I mean, I want this in Spanish but you most remember that this word is colloquial way and and any motive it can exchange the appropriate words in Spanish.

My birthday is being in around until three months.

Mi cumpleanos viene siendo dentro de 3 meses.

Please, this example in Spanish is bad, because the word in Spanish isn't sentence very recognized into of our language.:)

It's a crutch. A particular brand of hemming and hawing.

viene siendo = es

pues ahora organizan ahí lo que viene siendo una fiesta...
well, and now they are putting together what's really a party there...
well, and now they're essentially organizing a party there...

Thank you very much.

"Viene siendo" is a "perífrasis verbal". Perífrasis verbales are the compound forms of the verbs (two -or more- verbs working together as one unity). This one would be "venir + gerundio":

Vengo observando de un tiempo a esta parte que estás estudiando más.
Viene siendo habitual que los visitantes se queden más de una semana.

There are a lot of "perífrasis", you can make a search in the Internet. But think about them always you see two verbs together.:)

But.. what does mean "hemming and hawing"?

Cuando una persona vacila o titubea.
