Deshojar la margarita
I'm sure this means "she loves me/she loves me not," but does it have
additional meaning in Spanish? Is it used for "finding the truth? |
You're right that it comes from the game "she loves me/loves me not". I've heard the additional sense that "deshojar la margarita" is to leave the result of a situation or the making of a decision to the random petal number of a figurative flower.

I agree :)

Agree with both.
Two uses 1.-"Deshojar la margarita" To pick a flower saying "she loves me/she loves me not," in every petal... Ej "Laura ilusionada, salió al campo y desojó margaritas mientras reía y lloraba. 2.-"Deshojar la margarita". To have two possible options, and spending time doing nothing, like lovers do (see point 1) Ej: " A- ¿Juan ha decidido ya si se compra un coche nuevo o no? B- No, todavía está deshojando la margarita... Saludos :D |
