Sin comerlo ni beberlo

ROBINDESBOIS October 16, 2009 05:30 PM

Sin comerlo ni beberlo

Ejemplo:
In English?

Tengo difícil al traducirlo.

pero en inglés pienso que significa...

When some thing unexpected happens

Without knowning, the man entered the bank while unexpectly there was a robbery in progress.

No sé un dicho parecido, lo siento.

¿Tiene razón la frase española?

Sin comerno ni beberlo is more like when sb gets involved in sth without having anything to do wit it .

EDITAR € Quizás "to be an innocent by stander"

There was a terrible fight that broke out en the street resulting in the death of 2 innocent by standers.

An innocent bystander (one word) seems like the best fit.
This is a person who, by happenstance, gets involved in something/gets blamed for something they had nothing to do with.
