No sé muy bien porque no entiendo de deportes, pero arrancar también significa "empezar". Se dice que cuando te levantas de la cama "con el pie derecho" todo va bien, pero si te levantas con el "pie izquierdo" tienes mal humor y no van las cosas como deberían. Quizá aquí quiere decir que empezó muy bien la carrera, saliendo muy deprisa o algo parecido :thinking:

Arrancar = empezar (como mi amiga Irma dijo.)
