PD, nunca decimos "dear" en esa situación:), solamente "dearly"

Técnicamente debería ser el adverbio "dearly" porque modifica el verbo "cost", pero a mi me parece bien idiomático decir "It'll cost you dear."

hi pjt33 - de acuerdo por completo - una frase bien conocida con "dear"
en lugar de la forma mas correcta "dearly". todo lo del dialecto de la region, ?no?

"This will cost you dear" or/ "dear, this will cost you"
are different from "this will cost you dearly".
The first two would traslante«cariña esto te costará.
The third is "esto te costará mucho"
