Caer al vacío

vacío means void, caer al vacío could be to fall into the void????

Perikles November 01, 2009 06:29 AM

It means shouting into a vacuum, i.e not heard.

In English, to fall on deaf ears.

No, I meant when sb falls from a cliff and there is no ending.

To fall into a bottomless pit? To fall into the abyss?

Rusty November 01, 2009 06:09 PM

Falling into a bottomless pit, an abyss, or a black hole is a metaphoric way to describe something that is lost and can't be found/retrieved.

Caer al vacío is translated to fall to one's death.
