does se cierra a medianoche mean it closes at midnight?
or do you have to use lo cierra?

Richard closes the bar at midnight. He closes it at midnight.
Richard cierra el bar a la medianoche. El lo cierra a la medianoche.

The bar is closed at midnight.
It's closed at midnight - Se cierra a la medianoche.

The first is used to convey the passive voice.
The second is used to convey the active voice.
