Future Subjunctive

Adónde fueres, haz lo que vieres.

I am told there is a future subjunctive in Portuguese. I am right in thinking it is obsolete in Spanish? :confused:

Yes, it's true, though you can find it in legal texts :)

"Donde fueres", instead of "adónde" ;)

Thanks. Can somebody explain how there can be a future subjunctive, when there isn't one in Latin? :thinking:

I can find a claim that it was a merger between the perfect subjunctive and the future perfect indicative.

Thanks for that - L. cantavero / cantaverim => Sp. cantare. Hmmm.:thinking:
