Introductory Spanish E-books with translations

Hi,

Does anyone know a link to some simple start-up Spanish E-Books, where you can hover over the text with the mouse and get the english translation easily?

Alternatively, where the english and spanish texts are shown side-by-side?

Thanks!

I don't know of an e-book, or a parallel text, but just about the easiest book to read is The Girl with the Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier. The paperback translation into Spanish is (as far as I can see) word-for-word, and I read both books side by side (which is awkward because the pages don't coincide). But the text is an account by an uneducated girl, and so is simple to understand, and quite interesting.

Tomisimo: I can only say that you are a pathetic idiot. I have just started to learn Spanish and have completed level A1 and soon A2 with Busuu.com, so I just wanted to get some additional learning material. I have never met such a hostility and stupidity in my entire life.

mlun, you should be more polite. I you don't agree with him, it's enough to say that you didn't mean that. You needn't be so rude with Tomísimo. We all are very grateful to him for this forum.

mlun December 01, 2009 12:57 AM

Grateful! What the hell is this all about. I come here as a new user of the forum, and is being attacked and accused of being a spammer by this pathetic idiot. Maybe you are grateful for having this creep on board, but I, and probably more potential users, will immediately dump a forum with such hostility.
I will maintain what I wrote in my first post, and go somewhere else where this idiot hopefully is not posting.

Just calm down and be told that your first post was in the style of spammer, and an administrator can be forgiven for assuming that. It is polite and normal to introduce yourself with a couple of other posts before asking such a specific question, so that you are not identifed as spam. Why don't you start again? :)

mlun December 01, 2009 01:50 AM

It is impolite and not in line with any rules to judge someone alone based on your private mental disturbed fantasies. If this guy really is an administrator, he could have tried to get his suspicion verified in other ways, and wait until there was really basis for it.
Rather than trying to teach me how to behave, please direct your fire against the only culprit here!

I'm not directing fire at anybody, just pointing out that these things happen. The admin spends half his life dealing with spammers, so might be excused for his reaction. His post was sarcastic, your reaction was plain rude, so as things stand, you are not entirely guiltless. So why not start again with an introduction and show you are not a spammer? :)

Well, I guess he's not reasoning like a normal person. Not much else to say.

Tomisimo December 01, 2009 08:37 AM

mlun,

I apologize if I misjudged you. My only excuse is that we get so much spam from bots here, and this post seemed to fit the modus operandi of many bots. I apologize for my words, as I thought I was "responding" in jest to a bot, not a real person. I take my words back and welcome you sincerely to these forums, if you choose to stay. I would also like to ask that you not verbally attack others on these forums.

If you're willing to put this thread behind you, I'm willing to do the same.

Welcome, and best regards,
David.

Huaaa Man.

Really you have problems thinking with your personality.

Please you should be more polite with the people I don't believe a good way of the way that you are referring to a person.:(

I hope David can give you a explanation for the trouble generated here in this discussion for a missunderstanting.

@mlun: This forums are helpful because everyone participating here have a collaborative attitude and an honest interest in learning. You haven't been attacked, but you have insulted many people around. It's very often that spammers and advertisers start that kind of topics, so it was expected that this wouldn't be an exception, and you have been offered an apology. Please stay polite and collaborate with us to keep this place useful and agreeable.

CrOtALiTo December 01, 2009 11:54 AM

Just to straigthen this out: Yes indeed I was attacked. If you fail to see that, I must say something in your way of looking at things is very disturbed. It is basically so that you are not punished or judged on what others might think you could potentially do. The fact that you could potentially commit murder would not give the police the right to throw you into a dark cell for 10 years. Right?

It seems to me that folks in here stand in line to protect the administrator and that several people are very scared to publish links fearing that this is judged as spam. Not a friendly climate I must say.

I do not intend to start a long discussion over this, but just find it strange that no-one in here dares to say that the administrator did a wrong thing. he did, and he has excused.

But in Zimbawe not many people near to Robert Mugabe likes to say their honest fealings. They all have brown tongues:lol: Hope you guys understand my point of view.

irmamar December 02, 2009 06:35 AM

No sé si eres spam, pero te comportas como un troll. Te han pedido disculpas. Si quieres, las puedes aceptar y empezar de cero; si no, déjalo estar. Aquí hay muy buen ambiente y no nos gustan los malos rollos.

Un saludo.
