Que me se han puesto enfermas
The word puesto kills me at times. It seems like it has a different meaning everytime I see it.
que me se han puesto enfermas |
Literally means that several people have placed/posted themselves (in the position) of being sick.
It's one of those phrases you just have to understand what it means as I do not think there is an equivalent in English, or I cannot think of one right now. |
Que se me han puesto enfermas = They have become ill.
"Me" is an emphasis, as if the sick girls had done that "to me". |

I agree about poner; very slippery verb, quedar is another, and llevar gets interesting too... Gymnastics for my old brain
