El morbo está servido
How can we translate this into English?
Ej.: Esta noche hay un debate entre Megan Fox en bikini y Mat damon en calzoncillos, el morbo está servido. |
I think the term "sex sells" may be an English equivalent.
|
yes, but this is sth about curiosity, it´s not always about sex. It´s about creating expectation or .........
|
hmm:thinking:
the stage has been set...... Although somehow I think the word curiosity or one similar should be added..... hmmm:thinking: |
OK, then if it isn't exclusively about sex, the common term is the hype.
In other words commercial promotion |
Morbid fascination.
|
how do you use the Hype in that context
|
Right now there is a a lot of hype over the new iPad product.
In the United States, the media is all hyped up over the Tiger Woods sex scandals. 3-D movies are selling lots of tickets. but in most cases it's just hype. The movie would be just as good (or bad) in 2-D. |

People being drawn to other's personal tragedies or scandals. Media hype
is good at this. I wish it were less good at this. |
You can say that again. But if it sells it's because lots of people like it. Remember the controversy about some of the photos published after the Haiti earthquake? Where do you draw the line between what is information and what is mere exploitation of human tragedy?
