The word order in your proposals feels strange, Bob:

"Él ha cumplido seis años más que yo" would sound better, but I think the listener would be wondering six more years of what. "Tiene seis años más que yo" would be more easily understood "of age".

"Ésta es la segunda más grande ciudad en el país" separates "segunda" from" ciudad" and forces the listener to be even more attentive to find out to what "segunda" is related. :thinking:
