It's like saying "yard and a half"

Now, as Elaina states, depending on context, it might mean something else...

But you need to be more specific in the length that you need to describe.

I mean. I can guess that you are asking us.

For instance, Tengo un cable de metro y medio.

Mido metro y medio.

Therefore I don't know which one is the expression that you need to know.

Sincerely it could expressed itself as Meter and half.

SOmetimes when we talk about sb´s height, we use this expression to mean that the person is too short.
