México
Buenas tarders amigos,

You go to visit Chiapas, Oaxaca, and Merida too. They are the places more beautiful that I have gone before and really, I get out very happy out there. Get funny in your visit in my beautiful country.:) |

We live about 6 hours from P.V., and I can tell you I don't like it all that much. But then again, I'm an old dog, and I don't like crowds, discos, tourists, time-share salespeople etc... You sound like a young guy, so you'll most likely enjoy it a lot more than I do. If you want to explore a bit, there are some very nice places north of Puerto.Vallarta. Sayulita, about an hour and a half north, is a very funky town with lots of surfers, tattoos, and body piercings, and some really good restaurants. San Francisco (San Pancho), about 15 minutes north of Sayulita is a very laid-back town that has a nice wide beach, a couple of palapa restaurants on the beach and some real good restaurants in the town. About an hour north of San Pancho is our favorite, Chacala, which is the most relaxing place I've ever stayed. It sits in a cove with an absolutely secluded beach, a couple of restaurants (go to Las Brisas and have the grilled huachinango), and a population of about 500 people. I think we're going down next week, and I can hardly wait. If you feel like taking a three and half hour trip (one-way), I would recommend going to Tequila and visiting the distilleries. Tequila is also a nice town with lots to see and do (but not much night-life). Also, the ride from P.V. to Tequila is fantastic. You go from sea level to 4,000 feet at Tequila and pass through several types of climate and vegetation zones, and pass by fields and fields of blue agave, from which the drink is made. Have a great trip, you're going to love it. |
Thank you so much Tacuba for this invaluable information. I have no set itinerary, and probably won't. However, I will be considering every recommendation on this thread once I arrive. :)

You're welcome.
And well I hope that you have the necessary time to visit my country and the states that I told you. Please if you could reconsider your mind. |
