Thank You Button

Thank You Button

I have a quick proposal. I've set this hack up on a couple vBulletin forums and it is usually well received by both admins and users. Basically just a quick way for a user to thank another user and add to his/her reputation points. :)

Just a thought. :)

Jessica April 12, 2010 05:18 AM

we don't use rep a lot here.....but that's a good idea

AngelicaDeAlquezar April 12, 2010 07:40 AM

@Johnny:  The icon with the scale, on top right of every post has that function.

The icon with the scale only gives rep points.

A thank you button shows how useful a post was as it lists every individual thank you. The only thing the scale icon has in common with a thank you button is that they both give rep points:

Jessica April 12, 2010 11:14 AM

yes it also gives how many thanks you gave, and how many thanks you received :P it's much better than rep I think

CrOtALiTo April 12, 2010 07:51 PM

When someone posting something in the website you'll can give him a point of the post, if really the post was useful for you and well just if you get more than 100 points or more you will be able under your nick name or avatar a magnific legend.

I hope that this commentary can help you.

Just so you know, Tomísimo has already toyed with this idea. Thanks for the suggestion.

CrOtALiTo April 13, 2010 11:30 AM

Rusty.

What does toyed means?

Rusty April 13, 2010 03:19 PM

toy with = darle vueltas con (la idea) o pensar en

conjugated in the past (toyed with) = pensaba en o daba vueltas con la idea

CrOtALiTo April 13, 2010 05:34 PM

Rusty.

Then I can apply the word toyed when I want to say.
Le di muchas vueltas al asunto.
I toyed with the business.

It applies more an slang or idiom right?

Jessica April 13, 2010 06:17 PM

I don't think we usually use toyed with business :/ not sure

it's more like trying out something but....it's kinda hard to explain

If you don't translate asunto as business, the sentence will sound fine:

I toyed with the idea.
I toyed with the matter.

This thread has been officially hijacked. :D

AngelicaDeAlquezar April 14, 2010 10:01 AM

@Johnny: That's what happens in a language forum. ;)

CrOtALiTo April 14, 2010 12:21 PM

Yes it happened when you open a new post and the post become very controversial and explicit.

Haha, you're the man CrOtAliTo.

CrOtALiTo April 14, 2010 03:05 PM

Do you believe it?

hermit April 15, 2010 01:37 PM

Right - "toy with..." is when you roll an idea around in your mind and
try it out to see if it will work - like "playing around with an idea".

I guess when you're toying with something you haven't yet decided to
go ahead and implement it...
