Con los deberes hechos

Con los deberes hechos

Need some help from you guys on translating this turn of phrase, please.

The sentence reads "hay que llegar a las épocas de recesión con los deberes hechos".
i.e. a company should "do it's homework" in times of plenty so that a recession doesn't cause too much harm.
Should I use a literal translation or is there an equivalent turn of phrase in English? Can't think of one at the moment for the life of me :banghead:

Any help appreciated. Thank you.:)

You should use the good years to be ready when periods of recession come.

Sí "hacer los deberes" se trata de investigaciones se puede traducir literalmente con "homework", pero si no el metáfora me suena un poco engañante.

Companies need to be forearmed in order to successfully confront any
economic crisis
