Just wanted to say, VERY COOL! That world map with the little orange pins in it is a very cool feature. New? Everything looks really good, all the changes to the forums.

Later!

Thanks Julie. I'm glad you like that map. It took some work to make it, but I like how it turned out. :) (Not to toot my own horn or anything:D)

Gracias Brenda, I was also thinking about having it show usernames next to their location, but I decided against it, as it seemed like an invasion of privacy. Do you have any ideas on how to make it even cooler?

I like the idea of putting username's on there. I agree that some people might not like the idea. I don't know if there's an easy way to take a poll, or if you have the ability to allow people to choose whether or not to show their name. I figure if they're posting items, they're not worried about their username being seen.

I will give this some more thought, but I did think of a couple of things:

(1)I wouldn't mind seeing a time on there of what time it is where other people are. I looked at the map and wondered what time it was in Central America.

(2) I think it would be nice to have the city/state/country appear too. For instance, I saw myself on the map, and, obviously I was in the US, I could tell I was in California, but there was nothing to reference "San Diego". I think there was someone online from LA but I'm not sure. And I saw someone in Central America but couldn't tell where.

These are just "nice-to-haves". They could be more work than they're worth.

I'll keep thinking.

Good Ideas. Especially about adding the local time for all the countries.

Hi David, and everyone!

So if I am assuming correctly, only the users who are logged in show up on the map?? Or is that wrong? I always know where I am because I'm the only pin in the Great Northwest, (for now!) but how does that work for visitors who aren't logged in? i think i'd be great for those who are logged in to have their name next to their pin. Just my opinion!!

Thanks for all your work and continual improvements to the site and forums!

Jules:D
