Me podrian decir si esta bien lo siguiente, por favor?

a. Fue/era un pintor muy famoso. En La Gioconda, usó pintura al óleo.
b) Era/fue un pintor muy famoso. En La Gioconda, usaba pintura al óleo.

c. era/fue un pintor muy famoso. En sus cuadros, usaba pintura al óleo.

Con respecto a la escritura, ¿sería así?

En ese capítulo, el autor dijo/escribió que...(uno se refiere a la acción de escribirlo)

En ese capítulo, (se) decía que...//el autor decía/escribía que...(estaba escrito)

He was a painter very famous. In the Gioconda he used the draw to the Óleo.:)

I believe that my attempt is well wrote.

En la parte b, me refiero a una pintura específica, no a su tecnico habitual. ¿Esta bien usar el imperfecto para revirvir la acción y describir la pintura en vez de decir lo que hizo "pintó"? ¿Tambien se usa "en la Gioconda, usó pintura al oleo"?

I see what Crotalito told you. I might differ slightly.
a. Fue/era un pintor muy famoso. (Both fine, "fue" gives more the idea that it is all over, and it's in the past.) En la Gioconda usó pintura al óleo. Seems correct. I.e., in other drawings he used charcoal.
b.) While not incorrect, I would say "En la época en que pintó la Gioconda, usaba pintura al óleo" I.e., a progressive, or durative sense. "While painting La Gioconda, during the time he painted that painting he was painting in oils."
c.) En sus cuadros usaba/usó pintura al óleo. "Usaba" gives me the idea of "he used to utilize", ie., "as he was painting, he was using oils." "Usó" sounds to me more categorical, ie., that's what he used.
On the example of the author, both are correct. The "usó" and "escribió" are more assertive, more definitive. The imperfect form of the verb, gives a tad of a literary style, and this "progressive-durative" idea of the action taking place without "ever" getting fully terminated, completed. But both are correct. (I hope this helps. Let me know if any question.) :)
