Classic texts in Spanish

Classic texts in Spanish

The Fundación para las Letras Mexicanas is a serious institution that sponsors young Mexican writers, supports their formation, and promotes literature in Spanish language.
Some of these young authors have been gathering classic texts that are available online and they've corrected typographic, scanning and language mistakes.

These texts are available at Nervaduras, una Biblioteca Virtual

There are no copyright violations in this collection, and I think it might be useful for advanced learners who would like to have more access to books in Spanish.

Fantastic, Malila - thanks! I love hearing about programs for young professionals ... and the link to the online literature in Spanish. Let me ask you - what authors featured in this website are specifically Spanish (books posted there were originally written in Spanish)? Any Latin American authors? Thank you again!

@Lou Ann: See for yourself! ;)
Surf the website and find what the project is about and the texts that are available.

As for texts originally written in Spanish, you can browse the Literature section of the Instituto Cervantes. :)

Muchas gracias. ¿Sabes si hay algo similar en inglés?

AngelicaDeAlquezar May 27, 2010 11:27 AM

@JPablo: www.gutenberg.org, que también tiene algunos textos en otros idiomas.

I have question Angelica.

That was a younger project of any school or university or degree.
That the website was created only for the letters in the learning above the Spanish.
Good it nowadays sounds very interesting and I will me do a little to time in read more about them.

I got it.

Content in Nervaduras has been updated, so I thought about posting a little reminder that we have this source for books in Spanish. ;)

I don't think I'm advanced enough to read classic texts in Spanish yet. I wonder if I'd be able to read any golden age mysteries in Spanish yet. Any recommendations?

laepelba February 12, 2011 03:43 AM

I don't have any recommendations for you, but if you explore the Nervaduras website a little bit, you will find there are some short stories.

You only can read the post generated here in the forums.
