Get your feet wet
mainly American informal
to start doing something for the first time. This one-week course offers the chance to get your feet wet. I just added this idiom in the "Idioms & Sayings" section. Does anyone know a good Spanish idiom that would convey the same concept? Of course the literal translation is "mojarse los pies" and I have heard "quien quiera peces que se moje el culo" but that's another idea. Any suggestions? |
Mojaté los pies sounds good to me. I can´t think of anything else right now.

Vale, creo que había algo como "empezar a practicar" o "lanzarse al ruedo" o algo por el estilo, he buscado en google, pero no veo nada que acabe de "cuajar"...
Bueno, si se te ocurre (se os ocurre) algo más, me lo decís... :) |
I'd say "aventarse/lanzarse/entrarle (a hacer algo)", but I fear that's too Mexican. :D

¿Manos a la obra?

Aunque algo como "manos a la obra para empezar a aprender/experimentar con algo" puede funcionar en algunos contextos... ¡Gracias! :) |
