Romper esquemas
Does it mean to be completely confused? shocked?
|
Not always.
Generally, it means to come out of the ordinary. But "romperle los esquemas a alguien" means to do something (not necessarily extraordinary) that surprises someone or even shocks that person. |
Like to "make waves" and/or "rock somone's boat"?
|
Thanks both of you. I was thinking to break the mold, because it's the
direct translation, but the meaning is different. |
Hi, Poli! :)
Oxford-Superlex gives also these translations, romperle los esquemas a alguien (familiar) (echar abajo los conceptos) to shatter somebody’s preconceptions; (planes) to ruin somebody’s plans |
