What is the best way to translate tether ball?

This is a North American game of two opposing players. The equipment consists of a stationary metal pole, from which a ball is hung from a rope, or tether. The two players stand on opposite sides of the pole. Each player tries to hit the ball one way; one clockwise, and one counterclockwise. The game ends when one player manages to wind the ball all the way around the pole so that it is stopped by the rope.

I don't know what is the translation.
But I don't know the game. Although I can see that game is easy of build in your own home.

No parece ser un juego que se practique comúnmente en países de habla hispana, así que yo lo dejaría como lo dijo Rusty.
El béisbol se juega sin poste y en una cancha específica. :thinking:

Claro, comprendo, es un juego distinto, me refería a la palabra... Los deportes y juegos como el fútbol, basquetbol, béisbol, voleibol, son la version "españolizada" de sus originales anglos... de ahí que parecería lógico que adoptara una forma paralela... o "castellanizada"... :?:

En portugués, el tetherball se dice o espirobol, pero no pude dar con una palabra española. En México, según lo que he leído, se le llama el poste inmóvil de metal un espiro.

Vale... supongo que mientras siga siendo un tanto 'desconocido' en los países de habla hispana, conservará su forma más cercana al original... Gracias. :)

Espirobol.

Gracias a todos por sus sugerencias. Como no es un juego común, se me hace que voy a usar espirobol con una pequeña explicación en paréntesis.

I would use the english word, with spanish:
tetherball (pelota atada a un poste / espiro/espirobol)

En mi niñez era un juego muy solicitado en mi colegio, en Torreón Coahuila México. Le nombrábamos Espiro. En portugues es Espirobol y en frances Spirobole.
El Chavo del Ocho tenia uno en su vecindad. Era muy popular en los setentas y aún muchos colegios los tienen en sus patios.

Era muy entretenido, el otro día jugue con mi hijo y le gustó mucho.

El balón más que un balón de voleyball parecía perilla de box, pero ahora los he visto más con forma de balón.
