This is a typical Spain expression, similar to "sweet sixteen!", but literally means "16 months of april"... even though we are in August.
"April" is used to express the age of a teenager (in Spanish, of course.)
As in, tenía quince abriles = she was 15, she was a girl of 15 summers.
And in your case is now 16!
