I think the singer has a very good DICTION, which is something any English speaker who wants to practice Spanish, may benefit from listening to these songs. (I only listened to the songs while I was doing something else on another screen... but the clarity of the lyrics is something remarkable...) (Even if there is a couple of slang Mexican usages... the Spanish used is pretty standard and simple.) Than you. :)

You're welcome.
But I'm waiting your contribution.

I need to compare more ranchera's songs, I would like you if you could to place here in this post some songs known for you.

Sincerely yours.

Ah, I never heard of "gruperas" before. But now I found some. The lyrics of this one seem interesting, and easy to follow.

Pablo.

Then I believe you could place Romatic's music.

JPablo August 30, 2010 02:37 PM

Is there many Romantic themes on Rancheras and Gruperas?
(I believe, Crotalito, you are the expert here!) :)

AngelicaDeAlquezar August 30, 2010 03:21 PM

@Pablo: Classic rancheras have rich lyrics on romance (both happy and sad love). :)

José Alfredo Jiménez -- Ella

Pedro Infante -- No Volveré (by Manuel Esperón and Ernesto Cortázar)

Javier Solís -- Amanecí en tus Brazos (by José Alfredo Jiménez)

Jorge Negrete -- Despierta (by Gabriel Ruíz)
