Taking the ACT!

Taking the ACT!

tomorrow I will be taking the ACT

if you don't know what it is...

Citation: (Source)
The ACT is a national college admissions examination that consists of subject area tests in:

English, Math, Reading, Science

The ACT Plus Writing includes the four subject area tests plus a 30-minute Writing Test.

ACT results are accepted by all 4-year colleges and universities in the U.S.

The ACT includes 215 multiple-choice questions and takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete, including a short break (or just over four hours if you are taking the ACT Plus Writing). Actual testing time is 2 hours and 55 minutes (plus 30 minutes if you are taking the ACT Plus Writing).

I am taking the ACT Plus Writing

I did well on the PLAN test (which is kind of like the ACT, it's more of a practice) so my mom thought I would do well on the ACT too, better than the SAT anyways, and I might get into a good college

I am really nervous, and I think I won't do well on the writing...time for some last minute studying...:S

I understand your feelings, but also remember the Chinese proverb, "If your problem has a solution, why worry? If your problem doesn't have a solution, why worry?"

In other words, yup, do your last minute studying as that is always helpful... but what you know is what you know... and it will show up in the results.

Good luck and show your competence! :)

I felt good about the Reading, English, and Math part

but not the Science..oh that was so hard.

Is there any word or symbol you don't understand in Science?

What particular area of Science is harder for you to grasp?

Jessica September 12, 2010 12:43 PM

It was mostly charts, graphs and all that.

some of it I didn't understand. in the beginning it was easy, but in the middle and the end it wasn't as easy

I see. Well, go to the point when you were last doing well and find around there any word (or symbol) you didn't understand. If you take if from there, or a bit before, and review it looking for any misunderstood word or symbol, clarify it and get the data, it will be easier to follow.

Sometimes we "go by" misunderstood words and/or symbols (without even noticing it) and that is one of the most important "barriers to study" any subject. The solution is to find an clarify any confusion preceding the feeling that it is getting tougher...

Everyone says that science is the hardest
I took it in 7th grade (John Hopkins program) but only got a composite score of 23
I hope you did good!
