Como la copa de un pino

Según una búsqueda google significa cream of the crop. Quisiera saber si
es un dicho internacional. Gracias como siempre.

Literally "like the top of a pine tree".
It is definitely widely used in Spain.

They give many Spain references, one usage from Mexico, and none from the rest of Spanish-speaking areas. So it seems to be an usage circumscribed to mainly Spain.
