My name is Kevin (hence the username) and I live in the United States. I've always had the desire to learn Spanish, but the courses I took in high school were poorly taught. My motivation for learning has picked up recently since my girlfriend of 2 years is of Mexican descent and her extended family all speak English and Spanish. So to make myself look better, I've been trying to learn on my own for the past few weeks.

Anyways, I just came across this site and I thought it would be a good idea for me to sign up and join the community! Look forward to learning and meeting other Spanish-learning people! :)

It's good your desire for the learning in Spanish, I believe that you will able to speak Spanish soon, although in your high school the Spanish class were very poor and that didn't works for you anything.

Also it's good and wonderful the fact of your Mexican girlfriend and well just you ought ask her help with the language, so you will can perfect quite the course, because it's hard to learn the language yourself and without any help.
